Soheyla Dixon


Soheyla Dixon grew up in Paris, Texas and graduated from Paris High School.  She attended college at Southern Arkansas University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice in 2004.  While working full time, Ms. Dixon attended law school at night at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law.  She graduated with her law degree in 2009.

Ms. Dixon has been practicing law for eight years and is experienced in family law, criminal law, and juvenile law. She has handled numerous divorce disputes, custody matters, and CPS cases. She also has significant criminal misdemeanor and felony trial experience. Ms. Dixon has proven herself to be an effective advocate for her clients and a compassionate attorney who practices the law with integrity.

Ms. Dixon is a member of the Texas State Bar Association, the Denton County Bar Association, and the Denton County Bar Association – Family Law Section. She is a past member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, Texas State Bar Committee – Women in the Profession and the Denton County Defense Bar.

She is married to her high school sweetheart, Andrekus, who is a professor the University of North Texas and an adjunct professor at North Central Texas College.  They have one daughter, Amira (born in 2015).  Together they love to travel and spend time outdoors.  Ms. Dixon also loves to read.

Ms. Dixon joined The Draper Law Firm in 2018 because she felt her philosophy for handling cases matched that of the firm.  Specifically, she believes that we have a responsibility to help clients move forward with their lives in a positive way.   She knows that clients come to family law attorneys in some of the most difficult times of their life.  Rather than stir the pot or do more work to get more fees, Ms. Dixon truly wants to help her clients.  She feels it is truly our privilege, as attorneys, to walk clients through these tough times, and help them move forward with their lives and to a healthier future.
